The signing ceremony of the Beijing International Energy Trading Center Cluster (BIETCC) was held at People’s Government of Dongcheng District on 5th March, 2014. Present at the ceremony were Yang Liuyin, Party Secretary of Dongcheng District, Zhang Jiaming, Deputy Party Secretary and District Mayor of Dongcheng District，Piao Xuedong, member of CPC Standing Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor of Dongcheng District, Li Aiqing, chairman of Beijing State-Owned Assets Management co, LTD and chairman of China Beijing Equity Exchange, Wu Ruchuan, chairman of Beijing Petroleum Exchange and Liu Shaobin, vice chairman and president of Beijing Petroleum Exchange. Xu Hui, Deputy Mayor of Dongcheng District hosted the ceremony.
Piao Xuedong made the welcome speech on behalf of Dongcheng District and expressed the significance of BIETCC in improving the capability of Dongcheng District or even Beijing in allocating the international production element resources based on the market demand and supply. Dongcheng District is confident and is resolved to build a first-class BIETCC with BPEX under the support from the nation, Beijing and many energy companies,
Then Liu Shaobin shared his vision of the planning and development of BIETCC. The strategic positioning for the cluster is by relying on the concentration of big energy companies in Dongcheng District and BPEX’s existing trading modes, services and member foundation to promote the gathering of such production elements as policies, energy, finance, information, logistics and technologies, enhance better combination of energy trading, financial innovation, information services and modern logistics, build a world-famous energy trading center function zone in China. As for the expectation for the development of the cluster, it is expected that it will concentrate 50 to 100 energy organizations and companies and reach 500 billion RMB of spot trading volume.
Afterwards, Piao Xuedong and Liu Shaobin signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides. Yang Liuyin and Li Aiqing expressed their hopes on the establishment and development of BIETCC and wish an early start of the cluster. All the leaders then took a group picture to mark the occasion.
